Roadrunner tour to Bandelier National Monument
Story by Steve Waller. Photos by Ann Waller
It was a good Saturday to get outta town. Too many hot dry days had everyone longing for a trip to the high country of New Mexico. With Porsches gassed up we headed through the Jemez range, ending up at Bandolier National Monument. For some it was their first trip to the monument, for others they had been coming here since childhood.
For some members of the Roadrunner region, it was their first event after joining PCA. Scott and Donette Wagner enjoyed the day in their 2018 Cayman S, just delivered from California. (insert photo #1) And Mel Gomez from Los Lunas had a new 2025 Carrera T in black metallic with dark blue accents. (inset photo #2)
After a stop at the Walatowa visitors center (bathrooms not working!) it was on to Bandelier. It’s great to have such a mountain get away only one hour from the Duke City. At the monument the group split up and took different trails to the ruins. A return trip to Jemez Springs for lunch for most of the group, completed the day. Thanks to Steve Johnson for again putting together a great Roadrunner tour day.
